KNIGHT.
oh, great creator
i kneel at your feet. indebted to you for a life that is not mine.
oh, great creator
wielder of bone, molder of flesh.
it is from you i gain my earthly desires,
my spirit of great reknown
oh, great creator
have i done what you asked of me? have i
molded things the way you see?
oh, great creator
do not think i forsake thee.
i live my life in service of you,
sword sharpened to fight against any that speak against you.
but oh, great creator
the blade is heavy. my fragile spine cannot carry
the weight of severance.
yet you, oh, great creator
assure me i can. and so i carry,
even if i have to make the sheath from my own skin.
oh, great creator
carry on i cannot
the blade weighs everyday
and the red from both you and i seeps into my skin
yet you, oh, great creator
say i must carry it still,
for it is my duty since birth,
written in my blood,
signed by my hand though i did not know to write.
oh, great creator,
i carry things you give to me now,
the blade,
the bone,
the flesh,
the mold
oh, great creator,
of these things i don’t know what to do
they are black and bruised,
together sewn crude.
where did you get these,
oh great creator?
did they come from you
or the things you left behind?
oh, great creator,
i see things on this path you set me on,
the before,
the now,
the hearafter
and i say, oh great creator,
that it can look different
for this hearafter is not set
for it is not been made
but you, oh great creator,
tell me no
that i must walk the path set before me
that i must use the blade to sever my desire
for you, oh great creator,
are the prescient.
you are, after all
the great creator.
but oh, great creator,
forget not that you have also given me what comes from you
the blade,
the bone,
the flesh,
the mold.
oh, great creator,
i hold it all now.
and oh, great creator,
my spine can handle the severance.
for after all, great creator,
it was what i was made to do.
so i swing, oh great creator
my silver blade at you.
for it was you, oh great creator,
who told me to cut.
and cut, i shall.
but you, oh great creator,
did not expect the cut to go to you.
but oh, great creator,
it was what i was made to do.
I don’t typically write poetry anymore, but I’ve been sprung to do so. Tell me what you think <3

THIS IS SO GOOD. I LOVE IT
